
Bloustein Scholars Henry Sze, Madeleine Ramos and Amro El-Halim
Marist High School in Bayonne has announced the names of its students selected as Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars for the 2009-2010 academic year. Those students are: Henry Sze of Jersey City, Madeleine Ramos of Bayonne and Amro El-Halim of Bayonne.
Students selected as Bloustein Distinguished Scholars placed in the top 10% of their classes and have a combined SAT score of 1260 (Verbal and Math), or are ranked first, second or third in their class, at the end of junior year.
The Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA), an independent agency in New Jersey, administers the Garden State Scholarship Program, which includes the Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars awards. Students who receive this recognition for their high level of academic achievement are able to use their awards to continue their education at New Jersey institutions of higher education.
